Academy Launch Night

Starting in September 2014 Witton Albion are setting up a very exciting new venture with the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League looking to give aspiring footballers the chance to take the first step on the ladder in the world of football. The aim is to give the academy team a robust educational package comprising a Level 3 BTEC in Sport which ultimately, if they achieve well could give them a gateway into university or further education in some capacity.
The concept is that the boys would enjoy a fantastic footballing experience of training and learning the day to day reality of football at the club, whilst competing in prestigious competitions like the FA Youth Cup and the Evo-Stik Northern Premier Academy League. The Witton Albion team will be headed up by first team striker and Community Project manager Alex Titchiner.
On the back of the football aspect, the educational package leads them through a variety of BTEC units and work experience options that would open many doors for them in the future.
Recruitment for places at each club is going very well with training sessions and trials taking place frequently at all clubs to fill the 20 places available.
Launch nights have now been set up where players who have trialed so far, their parents, carers, guardians, coaches and managers are all invited to attend to view a presentation on the programme and put forward any questions to the representatives of the NPL Football Academy and club officials.
The date of for the Witton Albion Launch Night is on Thursday 24th July , 7pm at Wincham Park. Everyone is welcome to attend.
